Close your eyes and feel it….

It’s beautiful this land of ours
In so many diverse ways
The stark and arid deserts
Shimmering with heat haze

The green abundant rainforests
The plains of wheat fields flowing
The sheep and cattle roaming
In paddocks ever on going

The wonderful creeks and rivers
Mountain ranges tall
Reaching ever upward
Peaked with fresh snowfall

The gorges and the billabongs
Wild and rugged cliff faces
How I love this country
With so many stunning places

One day I will travel its width and breadth
From top to bottom too
Traverse beneath the scorching sun
And the skies open and blue

Feel the gentle breezes
As they caress the land
Walk on beautiful beaches
Pure soft white sand

I close my eyes I see it
The aromas I smell
I feel the many textures
I hope you can as well.

Life in My Bubble…

The crazy world I live in
Can get to me no more
For I’ve found a solution
Which is not against the law

See, I visualise a bubble
With walls so nice and tough
They keep negativity at bay
When the day gets rough

It comes in whatever colour
I wish it to be
Depending on the day
And which shade pleases me

I climb inside the bubble
Each and every day
My perfect sanctuary
In which my mind can play

Harsh words may come toward me
And I watch them deflect
Off the walls of my bubble
On me they have no affect

Pressure may build around me
People locking horns
Destructive behaviour
From ego and pressure borne

I gaze out at the crazy world
The turmoil all around
I smile on the inside
For my own peace I have found

Lion and His Mate

A storm brews in the distance
Hear the thunder roar
Lightning streaks across the sky
The stillness I absorb

The atmosphere electric
My senses come alive
Winds begin to blow
Stinging my weary eyes

I love these precious moments
When my energy ignites
Nature’s special gift to me
I accept with delight

The Universal provides
As and when we need
Like the raindrops falling gently
On the thirsty seed

A lion appears before me
Majestic, alluring, proud
I raise my voice in pleasure
Call to him out loud

He will not come toward me
Just stands and holds his ground
Untrusting and wary
Of where love can be found

With each lightning strike
I see deep within his soul
The hurt the pain the anguish
From experiences untold

The storm abates around us
Please don’t hesitate
Let’s face life together
The Lion and his mate

Dance to the Music

In this wonderful dance called life
At times we get out of step
Faltering uncertainly
Sometimes way beyond our depth

In these desperate moments
Its important to take the time
To listen to the music
Let it wash into your mind

Allow the rhythm to embrace you
Enfold you, carry you away
Permeate your senses
In the most delightful way

It will lift you up and take you
To places never before explored
Like an attentive lover
In its wake you will be drawn

Open up your heart and mind
Hear every little sound
And you will find the rhythm
Though your feet won’t touch the ground.

Arms extended, seeking
Though grasping just thin air
Where once was something precious
Now there is nothing there

Once there was sunshine
Now darkness abounds
The heart sore and the weary
Laying motionless, no sound

Love does not die an easy death
Cannot be controlled
A heart goes to whom it pleases
Not where it is told

Life continues on the surface
Just as it always has been
Agony and suffering
Never to be seen

One day the sun may shine again
The heart may come alive
Until then frozen in time
But still the face will smile.

Friends My Angels Bring

In the heavens way above
Angels sit among the stars
Gazing down upon the earth
Keeping watch on where we are

They will not interfere
In the life we chose to live
But if we listen carefully
We will hear the advice they give

If we feel a little lost
Lonely or despaired
We only need to call on them
And they will be right there

I know my Angels care for me
They look out all the time
For friends they can bring to me
Lovely new friendships to find
